Earthquake in California!!! 5.6 on the Richter Scale

Earthquake in California 5.6 Richter Scale.

I was watching the news and they announced an earthquake that just occured.

I couldnt find any breaking news on this story.. I have a few friends there...and wanted to see what part.

They are already going through a lot with that fire going on...and it's only 50% contained!!! That's insane!!

Has anyone heard any news yet? Just want to make sure everyone is okay.

Edit*

Here is something I found

All is well here where I live in Redondo Beach, California (L.A. area).  News travels faster than an earthquake? I'm definitely going to check into it right now.  Thanks for the heads up.

Everyone told me 5.6 is small....but it still can create Tsunamis

I have not seen anything on it but can't imagine what the poor folks in California are going through lately.

6 miles from San Jose, Ca.  Felt in Sacramento.  5.6 was correct.  That is all the info. I got from the local news.

No worries here and I was about as close as could be.  I was actually in my office next to the window on the 8th floor.

Everyone is fine.  That red square is the epicenter - Concord is where I am.  No damage, no problems anywhere as far as I can tell.

Just the Earths way of telling me it was time to go home!

Move along now.  Nothing to see here...

wow ... it's kind of late to be working! what time did it happen?

Posted by Chris Murphy (Mortgage Rates) over 4 years ago

8:04 Pacific Time.  I had a loan app at 6, an agent at 7 and we were just finishing up.

Robert, I start at 5:30 AM and try to get home around 9 PM

I do miss the family sometimes ; )

I made the map a link to the USGS site.  Once there you can click on the red square and see details of the event.  I have this bookmarked.

Welcome to California, eh?

sounds like you been through this before!

Yeah, there are what 200 quakes listed on the map?  How about a 2.3 this afternoon?

That wasn't related to this one.  It was centered in Concord.

2.3 ??? wow sounds like you guys are used to riding these waves.

I wonder if the 5.6 is just the beginning? Any Tsunamis?

California is one of the most powerful economies in the world.  What happens there affects us all.  Being a native Cali girl myself I know Californians are resilient!  Fires and earthquakes won't deter them, they are positive, life-loving people!

Not that you would even feel half of these but here's a page of quakes in the SF Bay Area for the last week.

I like the ones that are listed as possible quarry explosions. (We don't have many mines here)

Had to check back and see if you had any new news.  Looks like all is well - now if they could get rid of those fires.

My brother who is in Santa Clara emailed me that he felt the earthquake and had to get out of the house and back in. According to him, there were no damagers to his house or property near by.
