I'm in Charlotte North Carolina, and currently it's 44degrees.

Coming from Miami, Florida...we're not use to tempatures going lower than 60 degrees.

It's a nice treat to have cold weather so we can start up the fireplace!

Going fishing for stripers is reallly nice this time around, and you can catch 15-20lbs.

What's funny is that I thought I would receive less business because of the winter.....but I'm receiving more mortgage loan applications every week!

They said it might drop to the 20's this weekend.....BRRRRRR!!!!

I have recently looked at the rankings for my city 'Charlotte', and saw a couple of members gaining fast points.

I was wondering if this was maybe through 'invites' or some other points.

I took a look at one person who posted 3 blog posts within 1 hour. That's 600 Active Rain Points.

I decided to 'investigate' further, and found that there are other members spamming this website with blog posts just for the points.

Picking a blog topic to appease my ActiveRain members is very hard, and you should see the topics that are being used.

Another thing seen is members that are 'copying and pasting' ideas from other people on other websites.

Are the points really worth it or is it an Ego thing?

I dont understand the SEVERE WEATHER WARNINGS ...C'mon just say it's getting Chilly!

They consider 30-40 degrees a 'freeze watch'

I was born and raised in Staten Island, NY, and I dont remember the schools closing for icy roads.

Here in Charlotte...they close schools and businesses if the roads get 'icy'.

I remember it snowed at least 12-16inches of snow in NY...and the schools would never close.

Thank God I work from home.

I hope you guys read this...and take note. Sometimes we're overwhelmed with new SEO information that we start to 'spamming' the search engines.

Anchor Text is very important when trying achieve high search engine rankings.

My keyword that I would love to be #1 on  is 'North Carolina Mortgage'.

The mistake I have been making is continually using this same keyword over and over again.

I easily obtained #1 ranking on MSN for about 1 week, and now my mortgage website is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND within the top 100 listings.

I read that you should 'mix up' your keywords like choosing Mortgage North Carolina or Mortgage NC.

I learned the hard way that Search Engines will consider you  if you try to take advantage of their engines.
